Douglas R. Praul

Doug was born and raised in Bucks County, and has lived here most of his life.  He attended the Pennsbury Schools, college at Yale University, and then received his law degree from the University of Southern California.  

After graduation, Doug returned to Bucks County and served a year as a law clerk for the Hon. Edmund V. Ludwig in Bucks County’s Court of Common Pleas.  Following that, Doug worked in private practice for a few years before being hired as an assistant court administrator in the Court of Common Pleas, where he continued in various capacities for the next 38 years.  For the last eleven years of his career in the courts he served as the court administrator, until his retirement in 2016.  

While working in court administration, Doug served several terms as an officer in the  Pennsylvania Association of Special Court Administrators, including a term as president.  He also served for six years on the Criminal Procedural Rules Committee of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.  In addition, he served two terms as a director of the Bucks County Bar Association.  

Presently, Doug serves on the Board of Trustees of Pen Ryn School, the Elder Board of Calvary Baptist Church in Bristol, the board of TODAY, Inc., a non-profit foundation, and as a chairperson of the Bristol Township Youth Aid Panel.
